Thanks for that. I didnt do the memtest but it reminded me of my Gigabyte hard drive that is a bit funny about the types of ram it takes and so I changed the Ram from 2 x 2gbs to 1 x 2gbs and 1 x 1gb and lo, the laptop ran smoothly. Cheers, Ron.

Hello, I have loaded and fully updated Windows 7 Pro on my Acer 9300 laptop HDD. Because of problems with the laptops BIOS, I did this on my pc. No problems there. In fact the HDD runs smoothly and quietly on the pc but when I reinstalled it on the laptop, I was getting the above error code...
