Solved! 2.0 setup on a 7.2 receiver (no bass)

I have resolved this on my own. I tweaked some settings and got it where it needs to be. Because I'm listening to music at relatively low volume (most of the time) in my office, the volume wasn't high enough to really shine. I also changed the Adaptive DRC from off to auto, which apparently...

Solved! 2.0 setup on a 7.2 receiver (no bass)

I did look for an existing thread on this, as I thought it would be a more common issue, but didn't see anything specific. I am a fan of Yamaha receivers and now have 3 in operation. My theater is a 5.1 and sounds great. My garage has a more basic 2.0 A/B setup for inside and outside of the...

Solved! Outdoor audio: Stereo or mono?

Just an update on this... After ordering and testing two subs, I am now in agreement that subs just don't work outside. Both subs have been returned. I also moved my Yamaha 350s to inside the garage (the little Yamaha 150s I had in there are also going back). I splurged and got 2 Polk Atrium 8s...

Solved! Outdoor audio: Stereo or mono?

@jay32267 - great advice. As much as I like where I have the speakers mounted now, I think my solution might just be to mount them closer together. I'm going to try doing a mono setup first to see if it solves the problem first, as it's the less invasive option. ...pushing 2000 watts though...

Solved! Outdoor audio: Stereo or mono?

After recently setting up a backyard system (specs below). I am thoroughly satisfied with the sound, except for the slight lack of lows, which a new Polk powered sub I'm waiting on should take care of. It really sounds great, but depending on where you are standing in the backyard, there seems...

Problems with a repurposed, powered sub

I installed an audio system in my garage and backyard recently. Yamaha receiver (202 with BT), Yamaha 150s mounted in the rafters inside the garage, and 350s mounted outside the garage facing the backyard. Everything sounds great, but I needed a little more low-end. I had a sub from a Klipsch...

    Repurpose my old powered sub?

I have a new garage system A speakers mounted inside my garage, B speakers mounted outside my garage facing the backyard. I want a little extra low end and have two unused, powered subs that were part of standalone systems. One is a wireless sub from a soundbar system I don't use anymore (but it...
