If you have tried with another device, and still doesn't work, it seems to be an issue with the headset. Depending on your warranty, get it returned and replaced :)

How is it plugged in? Is it USB? What headset are you using? What version of Windows?

I don't see the point, but it all depends on what you want it for. You've covered all bases with a PC and a PS4. If you want portable, on the move gaming, then the Vita seems like a worthy investment

Considering it's now a windows 10 machine, maybe do a system reset (not restore) by going through the troubleshoot settings. Does she have many programs taking up space which aren't needed? First step is to keep tabs on task manager and see if any resources are taking up a lot of CPU etc and go...

Maybe go for a mATX PC, Easily to move around due to size,. A monitor and peripherals wouldn't be too difficult to move about. Gaming laptops have both for's and against's. But if you want bang for your buck, go for a desktop. There's even cases with handles :)

Ah booted into system repair and resorted back to it's previous OS and it works fine. Might stay away from Windows 10 a bit longer I think until the bugs are ironed out :P Thanks.

The 840m wouldn't perform to well. Although you said you played older games, It would have a bad performance on newer games so just keep that in mind. This laptop however which I shall mention has a better GPU. 8GB RAM, GTX 860M and it looks amazing. All the reviews I have read are pretty good...

No It wouldn't. My old laptop had better specs and for IV, it was virtually unplayable on the lowest of the low settings.
