It turns out that the HDMI control on the receiver was off, got a remote and turned it on now everything is fine.

OK so when I have everything connect( PS4 to HDMI 1 and HDMI[ARC(AV)] to HDMI 3[ARC(TV)] The TV does not reconise the signal, but when I switch the HDMI on the TV to HDMI 2 it works.

I have switched my HDMI cable to one I know is supported for I just bought it for 4k and the Cable is hooked up to ARC on both the TV and receiver. Still nothing.... I'm trying to see if ARC is enabled on my Yamaha RX-V381 but am finding it difficult without the remote.

According to rting.com the 6300 has a contrast rating of 5.7 where as the 6100 has a 9.3. Now that seems as though it would effect my experience significantly, though I don't understand the black, white, and contrast numbers so here are the links to the ratings website...
