Denon AV Receiver keeps shutting off - blinking red light

Alright, thanks! I just ordered the meter and it should be here by Wednesday but until then I'm gonna try to find a local store to buy a replacement for the 250V fuse. Too bad I already took it darn near completely apart, haha.

Denon AV Receiver keeps shutting off - blinking red light

Thanks for the quick responses! I was gonna upload some pics of the capacitors (yes, that's what they were) but ImageShack won't send me a verification email to make an account to do so and it's been a while. :-S However, upon further Googling I discovered that it's just adhesive on them so I...

Denon AV Receiver keeps shutting off - blinking red light

My Denon AVR 15-13 5.1 receiver has developed the habit of randomly shutting itself off causing the power light to blink red at an interval of twice a second. I disconnected all the speakers and peripherals, even the subwoofer, but it still keeps shutting off. Sometimes it works perfectly, all...

How are Emerson tvs from experience?

I tried Googling a bunch of stuff but only found people talking about how they perceived Emerson to be bad based on reputation. So at BEST, it's all third-hand to me. There are hardly any, if any, actual testimonials. I even tried consumeraffairs.com but that read equally horrible for any brand...

How are Emerson tvs from experience?

Okay, pretty everyone hates Emerson. They're supposedly unreliable, I get it. But to the true Emerson tv owners out there, what have your experiences been? How long have these tvs (specifically plasma/lcd/led tvs) lasted you? Ever have any major issues with them?

    Which 5.1 setup to buy?

Oooo! accessories4less.com has a the Onkyo HT-S5600 7.1 setup for $300 (with around $50 shipping). It's refurbished, but they're a certified Onkyo dealer and I've read good things about them. They also have the HT-S5500 7.1 for $270 ($320 after shipping) at regular price, also refurbished. For...

    Which 5.1 setup to buy?

Thanks. Anybody else? I'm trying to get a collaboration of opinions/experiences.

    Which 5.1 setup to buy?

Okay, so I'm buying a 50" hdtv and want to get a nice 5.1 setup for a decent theater effect for my movie nights. I don't necessarily need it to be super loud, just good quality and engrossing. However, I have very little knowledge when it comes to audio equipment. I know there is a difference...

Why is Emerson considered a bad tv brand?

I asked because I did not know that Emerson was considered "undependable", just disliked by many. I wanted to understand exactly why in detail. I had no knowledge of Emerson's history.

New theatre setup, how many HDMI inputs do I need?

I'm wanting to connect a PS3 (hdmi), Wii (composite av), tv converter box (coaxial) and a 5.1 home theater audio setup to this tv I'm planning on getting...

Why is Emerson considered a bad tv brand?

I ended up finding a Sharp 50" led 120hz for $400, I might go that route. It's kinda between the two in price/specs it seems and still a good brand. Thanks for all the input, I'm a bit less flabbergasted now!

Why is Emerson considered a bad tv brand?

That's understandable. Is there a rule of thumb on how long Emersons usually last? I'm sure there is plenty of variance, but if it's a common issue then I'd figure people would report failures and trends would show within one, three, five years, etc. I looked it up and couldn't find any such...

Why is Emerson considered a bad tv brand?

I'm torn between two tvs I see available on Black Friday. One is an LG 55" 1080p 120hz ($500) and the other is an Emerson 50" 1080p 60hz ($288). The reason why I'm torn is this: everywhere I read, people say Emerson is terrible and to never buy one. Okay, so they're not top-notch, but what is...

FRAPS video lag at 1080/60, but no gameplay lag

Perfect! I compressed it with VirtualDub and the finished file was not only buttery smooth but WAY smaller than I thought it was gonna be (from 4.68 GB to 129 MB). Oh, and you were close, it was a 1 minute 28 second video, so FRAPS recorded at a little over 3GB per minute at that rate. Thanks, man!
