iPhone 5

I have an iPhone 5 and it has not been charging. I have tried restarting the phone and cleaning out the lighting port. It will rarely charge but only if I wiggle it back and forth and in and out many times. Please help, My phone is slowly dying.

I'm sorry if this is a really dumb question, but can an Iphone 5 play 720p videos at 720p? Seen as though it only an 1136X640 display, surely it cannot display a 1280 by 720 video at that resolution, just like a 1080p screen cannot display 4k videos at 4k? I'm sorry if i'm being really dumb :P
