How can Live Photos be a feature, it is the same thing as a 2 second video. And the argument for works beautifully with macs is a terrible argument because more people have windows over mac and if you have an android phone you most likely have a windows. The only 2 thing on this list I think are accurate are the best support and the fast OS updates, but that is more of a carrier fault then the phone makers.

Hard to argue against that iPhone is better than Android? No way! Android is much better.

Like iPhone is easier to use? Give me a break, like in all Apple products integration in a forced system makes everything locked and hard to use. You for example have to copy things through iTunes, and can't copy videos to it, without using a lot of time and hassle in a third party program BEFORE you let it seep through iTunes. And Android is also much more intuitive to use in itself. I have had bought iPhone and Android, and now I would never go back to iPhone. Never!

Advertising stuff... On the same structure, you could build an article that supports Android phones and get as the result a different winner (can't do that with a Windows phone, yet). It's all a matter of personal choice which is not wrong as long as you admit it and not try to preach it as the only true belief.

for Android 1.5 GB RAM is nothing, it need 3 GB to run smoothly, really ????
Ubuntu take just 600 MB Ram to run , a Whole Desktop OS !

"easiest phone to use"

That's not a fact, but a opinion. The whole Android vs iOS thing is just a useless topic. One person prefers Android, other iOS. Just let them, instead of argueing about it...

If I have an Andoid problem, I can fix it without help (most of the time). My grandpa has an iPad, if there is a problem with it, I should look it up before I try something.

Ask me how to turn on an iMac and I'll say: What?

Again, it's just what you prefer.

I tried an iPhone 4 (yes outdated, but cheap) myself. Man, being not allowed to directly copy files from and to the phone is just annoying. Downloading MP3's? No way on the device itself. Then you have iTunes. Me: how does it work?

Yes, I am an Android/Windows user.

My point is (also): iOS isn't as easy as they say (to me).

O)bviously a back hander here from Apple. There is no way on this planet that a closed system device will ever be better than an open. It is that simple. This report is utter nonsense as it is all over written by the fact there is no flexibility and you pay through the teeth for a device which, lets face it, is no better than its android counterpart!

Both have serious issues, bloatware, or lack of control over how you use it.

Sorry but as a guy who works in electronics, Apple is no better than android and if anything is worse. Yes some of its operations are better than android, some are not. Cannot extend its memory, batteries cant be swapped (not that all androids can be either these days) but there is the benefit, android gives you that choice. If you want to extend the memory, you buy a phone with a card slot, if you want to swap batteries, you buy one that allows it. If you want one you can add on specialised camera's you buy one, all generally at fairly cheap retail prices.

Apple sucks the big one as it is a closed system run by a dictatorship who makes you pay for anything and everything!

This article fails to mention the Pixel, Moto Z, which are as close Android stock as you can get. Apple pay is better because it is more used? Come on! If you have to list best support, does that mean more people are having issues with Iphone? I don't know about you but last time I was at the Verizon store, that guy gave me great support and knew my phone in and out. Works great with Mac's? Are you kidding me? That is a reason? Can it be come your computer like the new Galaxy S8? And it's easier to use because the software look has not been updated since the Flintstones? WOW!

An Opinion! There is always a dime a dozen of them! And totally subjective!

All 10 are absolutely dismissive, an iPhone lover approach to "being objective Apple-way". But the worst ones, the intellectually offensive ones, are:
3. It's the Easiest Phone to Use - that's a piece of crap; I've been using Androids from my first smartphone on, too many years to remember and every time I grab my wife's, company issued, iPhone to even answer a stupid phone call for her, much less to use it for real, I get absolutely frustrated by absence of the basic meaningful logic of usage. I know, you'll say, Apple-lover, it's just practice. But that's exactly what I'm saying, it's practice, it's not easier or harder, it's a habit. BTW, with iPhone, it's Apple's way; with Android, it's Google's way; and the latter has much more flexibility to make it MY WAY!
7. Works beautifully with Macs - I'm sure it does, but I don't own any Macs any more. Sure, if you're into graphical design or movie editing, they are indispensable. But for engineers and scientists (and accountants, and civil servants, and so on), they are overpriced, bloated pieces of junk. All our machines (8 for the 3 of us at home) are Windows and Linux laptops/desktops/servers and Android integration and usability beats iOS hands down every time. Not to mention that Gmail, Google Drive, (non-Google, Microsoft's) OneDrive, DropBox, complete MS Office, complete Visual Studio, all seamlessly integrate with ZERO EFFORT!

Congratulations, you actually made me (a true hardcore Android fanboy) consider giving iOS a chance. I enjoyed reading through all your article.

How'd you show apple pay as an advantage? S pay works literally anywhere in fact the fact that Apple pay even exists makes it harder on me because they always say " we don't do Apple pay" and I have to say "it's not Apple pay its s pay, or works anywhere."

And how does an app circuit represent real world speed? That style of speed testing is designed to make iOS seem faster because it turns iOS's inability to multitask into an advantage which is ridiculous. Or course if you can only use one app at a time and every background app just freezes that type of race will make your device seem faster but no one uses their devices that way.

And you can disable/uninstall all the bloat ware on galaxies too. It takes like 5 seconds right from the launcher. The only app I couldn't disable was the tmobile account management app but I actually need that and if I didn't I could do exactly like on iOS and just add it to the hidden apps list. It doesn't even run in the background or anything.

Every thing in that list is just playing off of people's ignorance.

maybe someone can answer this, I'm not asking to show bias one way or another, I just find it odd that developers would make apps for a set of code that has many more restrictions, and will reach only 1/10 of mobile users? I do have to say to anyone that things apple is easier as android, all I have to do is show video of my parents trying to use their apple phones. Its been 3 years now and my mom at least always asks to borrow my android because she has accidently turned something off, deleted something, or ... I don't even know, it would be comical if it hasn't been happening for so long.

The fragmentation criticism of Android is coming to an end as is the issue with bloatware so this very much reads like a "what people used to say in 2014" appraisal of Android rather one that acknowledges any progress. Might be time to take Tim Cook's dick out of your mouth and give an honest review!

My Android vs IPHONE Rebuttal to YOUR OPINION

MY OPINION IS THAT TOM’S GUIDE IS AN IPHONE SHILL
I have totally lost my confidence in Tom’s Guide.

1. It also ran circles around the likes of the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 when doing things like editing 4K video and opening large files.

THE MAJORITY OF IPHONE USERS ARE LUCKY TO KNOW HOW TO
TURN IT ON. THEY DO NOT EDIT 4K ( THEY DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT IS ) AND THEY DO NOT OPEN LARGE FILES. SO THIS IN A NONE STARTER, MEANS NOTHING TO THE VAST MAJORITY OF CELL PHONE USERS, ESPECIALLY I PHONE USERS BECAUSE THEY NEED A SIMPLE PHONE. ANDROID HAS AN EASY MODE FOR FORMER IPHONE USERS. ?
_______________

2. Apple’s flagship takes more vibrant photos with more vivid and more natural-looking colors. It especially excelled in sunlight, where the Note 8 washed out some images.

AGAIN, MOST CELL PHONE USERS INCLUDING IPHONE USERS CAN’T TELL THE DIFFERENCE. PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS DON’T USE CELL PHONES.

_______________

3. The new Portrait Mode on the iPhone 8 Plus can add sophisticated lighting effects with a tap. And the iPhone X can scan your face to log you in, even if you grow a beard and start wearing glasses.

MOST CELL PHONE USERS INCLUDING IPHONE USERS CAN’T TELL THE DIFFERENCE. PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS DON’T USE CELL PHONES. IPHONES DON’T HAVE A FINGER PRINT SCANNER, THE NOTE 8 HAS 3 OPTIONS.

________________
4. Easiest phone to use.

ARE YOU SAYING IPHONE USERS ARE “ STUPID “ THE NOTE 8 HAS EASY MODE FOR THOSE THAT ARE NOT TOO BRIGHT AND NEED A ZERO LEARNING CURVE.

____________________

5. IOS updates when you want them.
____________________

SAME STORY, IF IPHONE USERS ARE TOO STUPID TO USE AN ANDROID PHONE, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY ARE SMART ENOUGH TO INIATE UPDATES?
_____________________

6. The best apps first
Now that both iOS and Android have millions of apps in their stores, the arms race is over, right? Not really. The iPhone is still favored by developers as the launch platform of choice for the hottest new apps.

NOW THIS IS THE DUMBEST POINT YOU MAKE ( WELL ALMOST }
MOST IPHONE APPS ARE PAID APPS, AND AT HIGHER PRICES THAN PAID ANDROID APPS. MOST ANDROID APPS ARE FREE, DUH, FOR WHOM WOULD YOU BUILD FIRST… FOR THE ENTITY THAT PAYS YOU THE LEAST? … NOT…… DEVELOPERS ARE NOT STUPID THEY TOO FOLLOW THE MONEY.
____________________________

7. No bloatware!
It's not a good sign for prospective Android phone buyers that some of the most popular articles we do are bloatware-removal guides. See the S8 bloatware guide.
Samsung and others have gotten better at minimizing the pain for users by lumping all carrier bloatware into a single folder, but it's still just crap taking up space on your phone

ON ANDROID PHONES SPACE IS NOT AS LIMITED AS ON IPHONES, PLUS ANDROID PHONES ACCEPT SD CARDS WHICH CAN IF NEED BE, SWAPPED OUT IN A HEART BEAT. IPHONE OFFERS NO SUCH BENEFIT. ANDROID USERS ARE SMART ENOUGH TO REMOVE BLOAT WARE.
____________________________

8. Works beautifully with Macs

THIS IS NO BENEFIT TO THE MAJORITY OF USERS, MOST ARE SMART ENOUGH TO AVOID PAYING APPLE’S ridiculous PRICES, SO THEY DON’T HAVE THAT MANY APPLE PRODUCTS. THE APPLE DEVICE MARKET SHARE IS TINY COMPARED TO ANDROID.
__________________
9. Apple Pay

THIS IS A NON-ISSUE, ALL PAY APPS ARE EASY TO USE.

10. Family Sharing

11. Best support and help

STRICTLY A ( FAN BOY ) COMMENT WHICH HAS NO MERIT IT FACT.

Oh dear. A 2 year old article recycled. Toms hardware used to be a great place to find unbiased information. Now just a clickbait site. Removed from my news providers permanently.
