$1300 Gaming laptop

Before you buy a "gaming laptop" please read about some of the problems people like yourself are having with theirs. Laptops are NOT portable desktops.

I have the gt60 20d and love it. made two trips to mexico last month and love having it.

Yeah I was planning on upgrading my gaming pc but since I travel a lot so I think laptop seems like a better choice.

my motto on a laptop is buy the biggest baddest one you can since you cant upgrade them. With that being said the msi laptops have removeable gpus and cpus so you can upgrade them. The worst thing I found out about the msi laptops is they did a horrible job putting on the thermal past. the first thing I did was open mine and redo the past on the gpu and cpu. also adding in a 128 and 240 msata drives.

What would you prefer the most ? And what do you suggest for $1300

what size screen are you looking for? my gt60 20d is a 15.5" and is just right for flights and easy to carry around.

I looked at the MSI GT60 2OC before going all out and getting the 20D. runs about 1300-1400$ has a 770m which will run most games on high settings.

Thanks for the help ! I'll think about it, maybe if I could save some more money and get the best one.

I was looking at the 2OC-024us and figured for an extra 200 bucks I could upgrade from the 770m to the 780m. that's when I moved over to the gt60 2OD for the bigger gpu. There are a few places that build custom msi laptops.

just google for custom msi laptop. I bought mine off of amazon and then later found the xoticpc webpage, had I found that before I most likely would have bought from them.

Portable computers are a way of life for many people these days. Portable gaming is not. Games that are current at any given time are always capable of taxing the most powerful desktop computer let alone a laptop. My suggestion is to enjoy your gaming DESKTOP and leave the laptop for applications that require portability.
