Question 2016 Alienware R2 ssd upgrade

Want to upgrade my alienware laptop ssd. Original it has a Samsung MZ-NLN128D Would like to increase from the 128GB to a 4TB as I use the laptop for digital pictures. Would like to know if the "WD Black 4TB SN7100 NVMe Gen 4 M.2 2280 would work? Also any suggestions for a replacement ssd would be appreciated

After that, you do not HAVE to buy a crucial drive, but that may indicate SATA III, NVMe, or both.
