The books are really entertaining and explain absolutely everything. The first book, aspho fields, explains their lives before e-day and the pendulum wars, and why marcus and dom are war heroes, and also explains the gap between the first two games. The second book, jacintos remnant, explains what happened after e-day, why the stranded re stranded and the hammer deployment, it also explains what happened after GOW2. The third game wont answer all of the questions, just maybe some answers about the locust invasion and the lambent, but most of the questions will be answered in the third book, anvil gate, that book would likely explain what happenned after the hammer deployment, marcuses jail time, and what happened befor GOW3.

I recommend the books because they tie up the details from the game, and are really cool.

I loved the first Gears. I bought the 2nd Gears and only played it for maybe an hour before I decided I was completely done with it. I don't know what changed from the 1st to the 2nd, or if it was just me, but I am not the slightest bit interested in this franchise anymore. Sorry MS, but can we have some new IPs and not just rehashes?

Still just mud colors though. What year are we in again? 1997 with the Quake 2 engine that couldn't handle anything but muted mud colors.

i love horde and hopefully this one will deliver on that aspect...graphics is cool but it doesn't make or break a game, its the fun factor..and nuthing is more fun then horde on gow2 or even zombies on cod (5 i think)...now if only they could increase xp points the longer you play horde so not to have people leaving after hours of investment in the game

The screens look sort of flat (yes I am viewing them at full resolution). Can't put my finger on it - just doesn't look that good to me.

Actually there were a couple authentic images in there at the bottom (with the HUD). Notice the drastic difference in image quality and resolution.

it's for the 360. If you don't believe so ask yourself this? Did gears of war 2 come out on PC? No, so what makes you think these screenshots of gears of war 3 are the PC version?
