3-cell versus 6-cell batteries for Lenovo

I want to get a Lenovo Thinkpad 13 with a 6-cell battery, but all I am seeing online is the 3-cell and it's not in stores at all. If I buy one with the 3-cell, can I buy a spare 6-cell and use that? Can I swap out one for the other?

There are different generation of thinkpad 13, are you sure they are the same exact model?

If the six-cells battery is indeed designed for the same laptop range as the 3-cells one, yes, it should work with approximately double the battery life if they both use the same cell model.

I would ignore the cells and look at the ampere hour ratings. No of cells only matters when ya know the capacity of the cells in each instance

Thank you -- I haven't bought the laptop yet because I can only find the 3-cell to buy, it is pretty frustrating. Nothing in stores, only online and only 3-cell. This way I can just buy it and buy the 6-cell for the same model. Thanks so much for the quick replies everyone.
