3ds Max student license,

Hi all, wanting to learn 3Ds Max and looking at the student license. I am not currently at Uni and am looking to self learn (Have taught my self TRuesapce and Adobe CS so certainly will be able to get up and walking with 3DS).

My Question is has anyone got the latest student license? How easy was it to prove your student credentials?
The other bit is it goes on about water marks... Are these over the final animations? as I dont realy want my portfolio to be covered in watermarks!

1) Join the Autodesk Education Community: http://students.autodesk.com/?nd=register&tagent=BTS-Dotcom-JG-9-16-2010 (instructions on requirements are on that page. "A student is an individual enrolled at a recognized degree-granting or certificate-granting educational institution for three (3) or more credit hours in a degree-granting or certificate granting education program or in a nine (9) month or longer certificate program, and upon request by Autodesk is able to provide proof of such enrollment."

2) Regarding the watermark: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=18270111
"Student licenses incorporate all the software functionality of our professional licenses, but include a print banner or watermark on output indicating the design was created using a Student license version."

As far as I can tell the only way to not have the watermarks is to purchase a professional (non-student educational) version.
