Hello everyone, I've been searching for quite a while now and cannot find a definitive answer to my question.

Can i plug in a 4.1 surround sound system directly into my 32'' LCD TV without using a receiver?

The reason I ask is because of a speaker system I plan on purchasing. Its a 4.1 surround system. Now I know its not possible to produce surround sound directly from a TV that only has 2 channel stereo output. Thats not what I'm after. I just want to use this 4.1 system to enhance the sound quality of my team so I no longer use the speakers built-in to the TV.

That being the case, would I be able to connect this 4.1 system to my TV using some adapters and cables? I'm trying to avoid any sort of receiver system right now because this is for a small room and dont quite need the surround sound now. Just better sound quality for movies and console games

Based on what cables I see that come with the system, the front and rear speakers both have a mini stereo connection on the end. So I would need to split 2 mini stereos into RCA. The problem im seeing is that every mini stereo to RCA adapter has 2 RCA outputs. That would leave me with 4 RCA connections with only 2 RCA inputs on the TV.

Based on these photos, it looks like the front and rear speakers connect to RCA on the sub but output to mini stereo.
Sorry the photo is so small. It was the best I could find. You'll see the green colored wire which I believe is mini stereo
