Are you able to get replacement screens for plasma TV's? I have a 42" LG 42PX3RVC-TA with a cracked screen, it has sound but no picture.

It's usually cheaper to just buy a new tv. The replacement screens cost almost as much as an entire TV if you can even find them in stock, and when you factor in the high costs of shipping, they cost even more.
New TVs are better and less expensive.

its just sad to throw away a big TV with just a little crack... what a waste! I wish there were somewhere that kept them as spare parts I would even give it to them to be recycled.

It is sad, but there is very little to a TV other than the screen and a plastic case.

re: "New LCD's don't beat plasmas"
There are tradeoffs. On the whole, I think the new LCDs are better for the price-that's why they stopped making plasmas. If you must have the blackest of blacks, check out the new OLED TVs.

If you do get a new HDTV, you might want to get an UHDTV. specially if you also use it as a computer monitor.

Don't forget about electronic recycling of the old TV. You don't want that thing in a land fill.

It was just used as a spare in the bedroom and really didn't want to spend the money buying a new one but price comparative I think I will have to.

I've found that Harvey Normal take them for free.. and probably refurbish them and on sell but yes better than land fill.
