5.1 not working

Hello all,

I have Logitech X-520 surround sound speakers. I know all five speakers are working but when playing games, listening to music or watching movies all 5 speakers are never working. It varies which ones are working for each, but it is never all 5. Any ideas?

What are you connecting it with?

Is your source true 5.1?

I dont have a sound card, the five speakers a plugged into the amp that comes with the speakers and that is plugged into the integrated card on the MoBo. My motherboard is the BFG Nvidia nForce 680i. TO achieve true 5.1 will I need to get a sound card?

Can anyone help with this. If I have to buy a sound card I will but no point if its not needed.

I am about to upgrade my motherboard to the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P, which supports Dolby home theatre. Is this 5.1?

Check your computer first if the chip is capable of 5.1 surround. Try updating the Driver.

You'll need a soundcard like this one. http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-plosion_cinema.php

But if you're thinking of upgrading then hold on to the sound card until you are sure you still need one.
