5.1 speakers outputting 2.1 (tried some other options)

Hello,
I have purchase creative inspire t6300 speakers, which are 5.1, I got them all hooked up with my external usb sound card and it all works perfectly when I am configuring or when I 'test' on sound section, however as soon as I try to play any music on it, it only outputs it through the 'front' speakers and not the center or rear ones, halp? 🙁 (This applies to anything, system sounds, games... etc?
(I did try to look for a few other options but got nothing out of it.

The output need to be 5.1 to hear it in 5.1. Most music is not and definitely not system sounds. Do a google search for 5.1 sound tests.
