5.1 surround system

Hello,
I am looking to buy a 5.1 surround speaker system. I do not need a DVD. I want to be able to play the sound from my6 Hi-Fi and my HD 1080 TV. I bought a sytem previously that would not play the TV sound. I will be upgrading to a 3D TV in the future so would like it to be compatible with that also. Can anyone advise which system would be best? Thanks

You really should include more information. Perhaps your model number of any equpment you currently are planning on using, budget, and how you plan on using the system.
