toms is now the news site that cried verizon iphone. this has been tossed around so long i will not believe it till i see it. though i would thing a bigger deal would be a good android phone coming to AT&T.

I'm about to upgrade to smart phones for my family thru Verizon, but I believe I'll go with android phones.

will wait to switch from AT&T to Verizon's iPhone will work on a 4g network

H

I won't switch because I don't want to be in the technews for having an iPhone when I'll try to rob a restaurant with no weapon.

I would change back to Verizon but would wait for new version of iPhone.

Every person I know with an iPhone hates it. I have 2 friends that paid to end their contract just so they could get droid phones, and my sister is dropping her iPhone and the end of her contract.

the iPhone itself is alright, but the restrictions apple puts on how you use the damn thing is terrible. unless you jailbreak it to make it as useful as a droid all you have is a pretty phone with half the functions disabled.

Frankly a CDMA iPhone hitting the US is the next logical step. With the exclusivity agreement coming to an end, or possibly breached at this point by AT&T any way, its the only way Apple can have any chance of continuing to grow its presence in the Smart Phone market, at least in the US. The biggest "choice" android gives you is what carrier, which for a lot of people is huge. Up here a Verizon clone CDMA carrier is far superior to AT&T, but unfortunately has a horrible deficit of decent phones, and most people up here tend to lean towards the iPhone. Verizon opens the door for a whole new market, being the people who wouldnt go to what they deem a lesser provider just for a handset they may prefer. Great handset with crap service = crap in general. This is not to make a lash at AT&T, but simply stating with the varied opinions on AT&T, this will likely help Apple, as well as Verizon, especially in the beginning. I am guessing the AT&T ditchers alone will make it worth Verizon's while, and Apple will enjoy the onslaught of new sales jacking their adoption rates up for the quarter and showing great proceeds even if they ARE current iPhone ATT owners. In the long run, its probably not going to help Apple overcome androids new found momentum, but it certainly will bring them, as well as Verizon to a new set of parties neither where invited to previously..

well i would love to see some competition as far as data plan pricing with Verizon vs. ATT, but unlike most people it seems, I love my iPhone and haven't had any problems with ATT

Not going to happen. The exclusivity agreement goes through 2012. AT&T can't burn that bridge. They will still need the business even IF it becomes available on Verizon. Taiwan isn't confirmed to be shipping CDMA iPhones, they are confirmed to shipping CDMA chips!!!! Big difference, as the later could easily be for iPads (10" of 7") in the US or elsewhere. The rumors are never going to stop.

Just what I want.... A crap phone that will kill the awesome Verizon network. Looks like I might be going back to Sprint later this year.
