Solved! 500$ budget need advice

Hi guys, my buddy is about to buy a laptop in about an hour here and I was wondering if you could give me some quick answers. He's buying a laptop primarily for school but also has just gotten a few D.J. jobs. So he will be doing music editing and other media related tasks. I'm not too up to date when it comes to laptop processors so within the 500 $ range (or close to it) what would you suggest for his needs?

Not exactly a whole lot in that range. You're pretty much relegated to dual core CPUs baring a sale at a retail outlet or refurbished models at CompUSA. The CPU on this is decent, and it should be fine so long as he doesn't want to do any gaming ^_^
