So I'm in the market for a laptop, and I would like it to be around $500 (maybe $600 if it's worth the extra mony). I want it to do basic computing, a small amount of coding (no more than 5-10 lines at a time), and also some light gaming on games such as terraria. I don't have any preference on screen size, though I would like something 14 in or bigger. Thanks in advance for the help!

ACER E5-573G-59C3 $450-550 i5 5200u, geforce 940M, 8GB, 1TB Hybrid SSD/HDD, room for a DVD or another hard drive. Will likely play just about any game at med-ultra @720/768. Equal or better than most laptops $700 or less. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=e5-573g-59c3&N=-1&isNodeId=1

I also suggest this at $390, It will do what you require, and like above is a great deal for what you get. Equal or better to most $500 laptops on the market. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314813

I would go with this
ACER ASPIRE E5-571G-38VF, Comes with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 820M which can play terraria and Minecraft on High setting at 1366 x 768 and for $500-$600 dollars you get either the core i3 or the core i5 respectively, and at 15.6 inches it is a decent screen size.
