6230 or 6610i?

Ok, a few questions regarding these 2 if you'll indulge me.

1: I'm wanting to be able to store many, many text messages. Preferably more
than 150. Which, if either, of these would do this?

2: I have found both on PAYG, which is the system I'd get - but I'll have to
unlock so it'll work with my Virgin sim (Both are O2 presently). Would
unlocking software (Nokia Free Unlock Codes Calculator or DCT4 Calculator)
guarantee I can unlock them?

3: I need to be able to type big messages, 2 or 3 texts or more in length.
My 3310 clogs down appallingly the further into the message I get, getting
ridiculously slow and unresponsive and sometimes misregistering a press of
the delete button which was intended for a single letter but which instead
wiped the whole message. Are these 2 phones more efficient for texting?

Cheers.

I believe the 6230 has more memory, but Nokia's web site will confirm
that. www.nokia.com

Unlock either with this site for free:

Don't think I've ever sent one that long from my 6230, but I doubt
either will have a problem... The 6230 is a much better phone, and
worth the higher cost IMHO...

The 6230 is a faster phone than the 6610/i. And four years ahead in R&D
from the 3310.

Well my wallet plumped for the 6610i. If it's rank I'll return it and get
the 6230.
Thanks to all who replied.

Both hold 150.

Well I went for the lesser cost and fingers crossed it's a good choice. If
not good old returns will be called into action.
Thanks.

Why not send text as a Multi Media message? LOADS of characters available,
and I think you will find it cheaper than 12p/text

Cheers

(Oh, I of course appreciate you were carrying out some text testing to see
how many you can group together)

No probs. Although cheaper, you might, as I was, be disappointed with
flickery keypad and the poorer screen on the 6610(i). Not a bad-looking
phone though.
