I cannot seem to decide if I really need the 680m or just go with the 670mx. I am able to get a 670mx laptop for $1300 and it has the 3630qm CPU. The 680m laptop would cost me $1800 and it also has the 3630qm.

The games I play are not too demanding: SWTOR, Company of Heroes, LoL, DiRT series, GTA IV, Batman and some others. Most of the higher demanding games like Crysis I play on my Xbox.

Would I just be better off getting the 670mx laptop and saving my money...or even using some extra money to upgrade the CPU to a 3740qm? It'd cost $1500 with that CPU.

I am also looking for a laptop that runs as cool as I can get while playing my games at or nearly at max and also uses less power. Hell...or should I just wait for the Haswell and next gen GPU laptops?

www.notebookcheck.net i love this site for checking on the nitty gritty details of notebook hardware am looking for something decently priced/performance as well- the way i see it get the best gpu u can afford as most likely you will have the laptop a long time there is a hairline difference between these two gpus obviously the 670mx is a really good gpu

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-670MX.82603.0.html 670mx 960 cores
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-680M.72679.0.html 680m 1344 cores

since they are both based on same chipset the performance difference is probably small that is why i like this site it will show you if its re-branded or not.
