9800m gts vs 540m?

I don't understand how 9800m gts is set at the same performance range as the 555m when benchmarks shows that it's just about 5% faster then the 540m. Or does 5% makes a huge difference in performance?

According to Notebook Check, the GT555M is 31% quicker than the 9800M GTS. I wouldn't use a chart on UESP to show performance.
