A horizontal line on my screen

I got a new [strike]computer[/strike] laptop about 2 weeks ago and it has a horizontal line going across it in the middle and the bottom half of my screen works but it doesn't let me click anything. I haven't dropped it or anything so I don't know why its doing this

Only two weeks old -- if you bought it brand new it's covered by the manufacturer's warranty so my advice is to make use of that warranty rather than trying to fix it yourself. Contact the manufacturer.
