I'm an art student and I've been studying animation and digital design solo for the past two years. But, soon, I'll be taking classes and I would like a good laptop to use. I'm unhappy with the Mac laptop (and desktop), but I'm used to Dell and I can get used fairly easily to anything else that will be better.
I'm not an expert on computers, but here's what I basically need:

- High screen resolution
- Long battery life
- Something with a lot of Hard Drive capacity (not a priority, though).
- One that can run programs such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc. with programs also like Blender.
- My budget is about $500 to $700
- I live in America.

Thank you very much! If somebody could help me, that would be amazing.

The Toshiba laptop suggested by rico22 is a good one for your budget.
Other similar option can be:
SONY VAIO F Series: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834126098

But, since you're going to use the laptop for game design & image editing/rendering, I'd like to suggest you to get something with more powerful CPU and with a discrete graphics card. Also, you need to spend some more.

Lenovo Y-series:

Lenovo Y410p: (3rd model)

If you're looking for Full HD Resolution, you have to spend around 900$:

Lenovo Y510p: (2nd model)
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/

the i7-4700QM & nVidia GT755 Graphics card is quite powerful and will take care of all your Graphics processing needs.

However, don't expect a good battery life from the Y-series.
