I think that may be a sentance from another article that wormed its way into this roast:

"This is the best product I have seen from Sony since the original Playstation."

[citation][nom]darkchazz[/nom]kids will get the 3DS to play rehashed versions of mario and pokemon , fail if you ask me.[/citation]
I would say the same. But oddly enough, we say that becaue we are westerners. In the east (in Japan), they like being riddens on rails and they like getting the same beloved games over and over again. 30 million versions of Mario is a very good thing for them. They think PC/XBOX, first-person, open-ended, slick graphics gameplay is crapware. Strange, but true.

[citation][nom]ProDigit10[/nom]It'll be quite nice if Nintendo could bring backwards compatibility with the older games like GB, GBC and GBA casettes.[/citation]
As I understand it, when they get thier market going, you should be able to download GBA titles and play them. Better than nothin', I guess.

Well... Again... I'm a hardcore gamer and played both DS and PSP... but I don't play DS much... It's just like... fun?... anyway their game never last long for me... But PSP games always made me curious... and again... It will depend on the games.

maybe its just me because i existed at at time the last fad of 3D is why im not impressed by it. who knows but i find the 3D effect is just feels like a cheap add on that you have to use special equipment for. and don't gert me started on the 3D LCD tv's out now that people are buying instead of waiting for the glassless 3DTV's that will eventually be coming out

a) Nintendo always wins on the handheld market. they could release the GBC all over again and they'd still win. it's called brand recognition.
b) 3DS is cheaper than Sony's new PSP2 will be
c) 3DS is cheaper than iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4GS. in fact you can purchase 3 3DS consoles for the price of one iPhone
d) You can turn off the 3D on the 3DS. If reviewers haven't realized this and turned off the console before concluding an extensive proper review of the system and/or games, then the failure is on them and they should be looking for another job
e) as much as I wish the PSP2 would have come out a long time ago and that I wish it was more promising than this device, Nintendo is going to obliterate it in sales.

Firstly: WP7 is not a me-too platform. In fact it owns Android and iOS in almost every area other than app count and adoption so far. Fluid, unique UI and an unique focus on gaming never seen before.

With that addressed:

I believe that the PSP2 did not need 3D. Sure, success in this generation may be measured by interface and control mechanism, but that isn't for the hardcore gamers. We still favor the traditional tried-and-true mechanisms - keyboard and buttons. We true enthusiasts for the most part dislike 3D. I say good decision in Sony not including it.

I'd rather take everything that it plans on having then leaving something out to include 3D, even if it would be sans glasses. 3D becomes less and less appealing the smaller the screen size. Hell the drop in appeal is pretty significant already going from a movie theater screen to a TV.

[citation][nom]keyvin32[/nom]3D is not a frikin gimmick. It doesn't require you to wave your arm around like the wiimote did or do anything that requires extra effort. It will undoubtedly ENHANCE your experience not detract from it. Saying that 3D is the reason for buying the PSP2 instead is a weak bullshit argument. The DS was and the 3DS is projected towards all ages and SSF4 and Ocarina of Time is obviously not restricted to 6 year olds as you retarded PSP fanboys proclaim.[/citation]

Um your right 3d isnt a gimmick.. whatever this garbage is they are putting in tv's and the 3ds is however a gimmick. or fad or whatever you can call it. its garbage it looks like garbage it works like garbage.

[citation][nom]Nexus52085[/nom]People saying 3D is a fad is like the old days when people said color movies was a fad, or talkies was a fad, or stereo sound was a fad, or surround sound was a fad. 3D will become standard at some point. Those of you who think otherwise are simply ignorant.[/citation]

i Don't remember anyone saying color, Stereo or surround sound were a fad. they actually did something to enhance the experience by actually adding something. This whatever it is i refuse to call it 3d because its the last thing it actually is, adds a lot of cost to things i want to buy other then that it adds absolutely nothing other then .... well nothing i can see. BTW talkies were a gimmicky fad.. they died off REALLY fast. I think disco lasted longer then those damned things. But hell if apple can sell a $50 mp3 player for almost a thousand dollars i guess anything can be a "product"

Um, do your homework. Talkies is a shortening of the phrase "talking film," which is film with people talking instead of silent films with words pasted on the screen between shots. I don't think that was a gimmick. I'm a film score composer. Film history is a requisite in my line of work, so I think I know a bit about the way things panned out back in the early days of cinema.

Fail. Please back up your arguments. The 3DS does not look like a piece of garbage. I don't see how that sexy device is ugly to you. And you're an idiot for thinking that 3D has no commercial or fun value. You're probably some dumbass PSP HARDCORE loser who can't accept that the PSP is a piece of overpriced shit. Lfmao, does anyone actually believe that the NGP is going to be in the hands of the average teenager one year from now? The name 'NGP' speaks for itself.

Actually Keyvin i hate sony's gaming devices from the ground up. the nintendo hand helds imo have always looked retarded. But i was only talking about the "3d" and it not being actual 3d. it does look like garbage no one has ever shown me "3d" that hasn't looked like garbage let it be on a hand held tv or whatever. No commercial value? hell i don't know if it has any i was talking about tv's and things like these portables i never went beyond that. You do sound like an over excited child that couldn't wait to bash on someone who didn't like nintendo's new toy though.

Sorry nexus i thought you were talking about something else.. If you had said talking film i wouldn't have said what i did. I actually have no idea what that is. But after reading a little about it.. It seems the way it was implemented was a bad design but lead the way to something that actually worked. maybe whatever this "3d" is will do the same but as it is now its a horrid display and i wouldn't pay a penny for it. Right now the only way to get true 3d takes a lot of glass plates and costs way way way way way way to much and even then its somewhat questionable if its real 3d because of the plates :/ It does however look fantastic. and truly 3d
