So I have researched this stupid topic all day and guess what I find. JUNK! LITERALLY! I find out that so many people have tried this but they never said if it worked or not and I am just so god damn angry!! I have an hp pavillion g4-2235dx and I don't know if its motherboard will accept the apu or not my bios version is f.26 so someone if you have tried this please tell me!!! So i don't have to risk it and just buy the A10-4600M

Solution
Looking into those g4s ... it seems the big difference between them and the g6 (and the g7 for that matter) is simply the monitor size so .... I really don't think you will have any problem at all with that A10 5750m.

Another thing worth knowing ... despite hp saying max ram is 8 gb ... they will use 16 with no problems.

I found out that this guide was from 2012 and the A10-5750M was released in 2013. So I thought maybe they didn't add in the A10-5750M into the manual because it was released a year after. Do you think there is still a chance that it might work? Could you maybe find somebody who has tried this with this exact laptop?

I have done it. I have replaced the A8-4500m with an A10-5750m on my G4-2218br.

My bios version is f.27 from 04/12/2013

The A10-5750m is waaay faster then the A8-4500m, especially if you want to game with it.

I installed it myself, so at first it was running hot, but is was because I did apply the thermal paste wrong. I did it right now it´s running normal.

I can really tell the difference between processors. My Laptop is way stronger now.

some dude said he successfully did it and it was a70m chipset right?

I found some bios updates for my laptop F.26 3/1/2013 and there is another one but it talks about flashing my bios or something what do I do? It's this thing: HP Notebook System BIOS Update (AMD Processors)
F.2A Rev.A 7.6 MB Sep 19, 2016 what does that mean?

That A10 5750m processor is my goto processor for the many hp g6 2000 series laptops that I have upgraded (some started with the A6 4400m). I've never had a problem. You mentioned the A10 4600 ... I've used a few of them - they're quite good .. not hugely different than the 5750 and sometimes half the price (I only buy used processors).

I've had no experience with the g4.

Thank you so much you had the most helpful information! I have already bought the A10-5750M probably getting it on the first of March but I hope I get it sooner. Your information has given me hope that this will work. I will report back if I have any problems.

I have received the item today and I have installed it and am using it right now but.. It keeps telling me false things. It says that the cpu has l2 cache 8mb when it should be 4. It says the 8650G gpu has 512 mb vram when it should have 768. Memory bandwith should be 29.9GB/sec but it's 25.6GB/sec. Memory clock should 933mhz but it shows that it's 800mhz. Please help it works perfectly but it keeps showing me false information.

Task Manager is saying I have 8 mb l2 cache. Also I looked a display adapter settings it keeps telling me I only I have 512 mb vram and i'm supposed to have 768 mb. All sites also keep telling me the 8650G should have memory bandwidth of 29.9GB/sec and a memory clock of 933 mhz. I have all up to date graphics drivers and all of them keep telling me that memory bandwidth is 25.6GB/sec and memory clock 800mhz and 512 mb vram. Also I have 8 gb ram dual channel which means i have 2, 4 gb ram sticks and they run at 1600mhz.

Yes ... just looking at my g6 with the same processor:

Task manager is saying 8.0 MB of L2 cache

Radeon Settings tells me my memory size is 512 ... why do you say you're supposed to have 768? ... from what I remember (this was year or so ago) ... the 8650G does not have it's own ram - it shares the system ram ... some bios allow you to allocated more or less ram to video ... unfortunately ours does not (at least mine doesn't).

Thinking of the video driver ... did you download the 'Crimson' beta driver or did you stick with the 'stock driver'? ... I'm using the 'Crimson' it seems to work quite well (but I'm not a gamer so ...) .

Just checked my bios - same as yours - Insyde F.26 2/21/2013

I'm not sure if the system would benefit from 1866 ram or not - try it and let me know lol
