ac adapter error

Dell Inspiron N5110 laptop ac adapter not recognized or compatible error upon start up. BIOS AC Adapter type states NONE. Unplugged the power cord, waited with it still stating (NONE), plugged back in still stated (NONE), Dell battery meter test stated Battery preforming normally, using original Dell power cord that came with the computer. Green light on power cord box is on and stays a constant green color. Tried updating BIOS from A06 to A11; update was successful, but BIOS ac adapter type still states NONE. Seems Dell is aware of this problem because of the video and many complaints on there support page. I have tried everything they suggested on Dells support page. Now at a loss. Please Help. Computer is 1 year 6 months old and would hate to trash it because it will not charge.
