I'm trying to fix an old laptop for a friend. It's a Samsung 3530ec.

Basically it needed wiped and the keyboard needed replaced. After doing the fresh install from Windows 10 (Windows 8 default) to Windows 7 I opened it up, changed the keyboard and then the touchpad and keyboard wouldn't work.

My friend, in an attempt to help, reset the BIOS which resets the settings I needed to change for Windows 7 to run or for the laptop to boot from USB at all. The keyboard still isn't working so I can't navigate anything and the USB keyboard I was relying on now doesn't function with the laptop.

Can anyone give me some pointers in where to even begin trying to rectify this?
