acer 5742 laptop

help needed with acer 5742 laptop had fan cleaned new hard drive , because it was getting hot ,now the fan runs hard when i am using the laptop and still getting warm ,I am using google chrome

Did you remove the heat sink, clean it and apply new heat grease? If not, do that, and make sure the heat sink is re-installed properly.

thank you so much for your reply , had a new fan fitted new hard drive , heat sink cleaned out , new heat grease , when laptop is doing nothing stays cool , when i am on the net google , fan runs hard laptop get so warm ,

Fan could have been improperly installed. If the heatsink was not installed properly the CPU will get hot, the sensors will tell the fan to spin faster.

hi , right the heatsink got removed cleaned out , new heat grease Z5 got put on , fan get cleaned out , but laptop set idle at 82 F , dont know what more i can do

Check with Acer, it should not be running that hot unless the fan is not working.

I sent a email to acer , got a reply saying install windows 7 again , no help at all . As for the fan it is running speeds up when latop gets hotter ,dont know what to do with it
