Acer aspire 5745g fan not working

Hi I m using Acer aspire 5745g ..my laptop gets heated badly ...i can see the fan starts as soon as I press the button but gets off immediately.. How to solve this issue ...BTW I opened it few days back to clean it as my laptop was shuting down automatically ...may be since then the fan is in this situation ..

If the fan is failing, or isn't capable of venting the heat that something is putting out, then the fan may well need replacing. If the laptop is under warranty, then contact the manufacturer. If it isn't, then I would try a local tech.
