Acer Aspire 8730 Black Screen

The lamp for the screen turns off, leaving a black screen. Upon pressing FN+F6, the lamp will turn on, giving me a useable screen, but not stay on. This leads me to believe it's a bios problem. Any thoughts?

Hi,

Please do try to uninstall/reinstall the display adapter of the laptop first.

- Go to Device Manager right click on the display adapter and select Uninstall.
- Open Programs and Features and uninstall anything related to NVIDIA graphics.
- Download and install the graphics card driver from NVIDIA support site.
- Here's the link: nvidia.com/download/index.aspx
- Reboot the laptop for all the changes to take effect.
- Observe the laptop and if the same problem persist you may need to contact the manufacturer because it may need a replacement display or it's back light.
