Hello all
This is a bit of a strange one and im not sure if its a problem with the screen or something to do with the settings on this laptop.
Basically it would lose the time and date everytime i shut it down, so i replaced the CMOS battery and that resolved that issue. However, as soon as i had done this it created a new problem with the screen.
When i start the laptop it shows the Microsoft start up logo, then it shows the screen where its loading the Operating System, then it goes blank!
This may sound like the screen or the inverter is faulty, however, if i start the laptop in Safe Mode, the screen works perfectly fine
At first i thought it was the new CMOS battery, so i removed it and put the old one back in, it worked fine the first time i started it up and then went blank after 5 mins rather than 5 seconds.
Anybody able to shed any light on this before i go and replace the screen?
In order to replace the CMOS battery i did NOT touch or remove any connections for the screen at all.
