Acer Aspire E-15 External Microhpone problem

Hi there!

About a year ago, I bought this Acer Aspire E-15. I've used the internal microphone ever since, but I've gotten an actual headset now, with microphone.

The Acer laptop only had 1 hole for the headset, so I bought a splitter so I could connect 2 cables into 1 (The hearing and speaking thingies) But it doesn't seem to work. I've tried with 2 different splitters now, it doesn't work with either, so I guess there is something wrong with my laptop.

The sound still works with or without the splitter, so yea.

I really want to use the external microphone, since if I use the one already implanted in the laptop, everybody hears an irritating static noise, and whenever I type something, it's really loud (Thanks to whoever put the microphone in the keyboard)

Please do refer to this thread, they have the exact problem with yours that might be very helpful. They suggest that you need a 3.5mm Stereo Audio Male to 2 Female Microphone Headphone Splitter Cable Adapter.

I already got one of those (Which I'm using right now) But it doesn't seem to work. (That's what I mean by splitter)
