acer aspire screen flashing

i have an acer aspire and the screen keeps blinking off and on . but when i go on device manager . and disable Inter(R) HD graphics 4000 it stops . can anyone help me findout what is exactly wrong

Try updating the driver and see if that will resolve it.

tried that. works for sometime and later on starts flashing again. could it be a hardware issue ??

It is possible, but if the driver change makes it stop, I am wondering if something is removing or altering the driver. An update that is changing what driver is there, or something else. If it was hardware, I don't see the driver fixing it for a short while.

agreed ... i even changed the power settings ... like the sleep time ... i selected never go to sleep .. it looked like it would work ... but then just as i had expected started flashing again ..

I would scan the device for malware and viruses. Then try updating the driver again, and when/if it starts acting up again, see if the system has updated anything just prior to the problem restarting.

well i have already done that .... infact i uninstalled Intel driver update tool.. and yea it was fine ... till i plugged out the laptop.. seems it goes all flashing then
