Acer aspire shuts off 3 secs after switching it on

My Acer Aspire 5742 shuts off 3 secs after switching it on and then it goes in circles on and off by itself without stopping. I can not even stop it! Can anyone help please. Thanks

Did you try starting your laptop on battery, i.e. without plugging in the charger? In many cases, it is the charger that is faulty and replacing it resolves the issue.

Let me know if this works.
