Acer Aspire V5 - 473P

Hi all, I'm periodically having trouble with my Acer Aspire V5 - 473P and hoping you can help.

When I'm pressing keys the letters are not registering on the computer - but for some keys the computer is acting as though I've pressed control O? For example, when attempting to login at the login screen, upon pressing any key I receive a message saying "password is incorrect"... or the keys pressed don't register at all.

If I restart the computer the problem corrects itself, but I often lose work when this happens.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Happy to provide more information if I can. Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Check keyboard language settings.
- Open Control Panel and look for Region and Language.
- Check all tabs if they are all set to United States.
- If that doesn't work, try pressing those following keys which are not working using your onscreen keyboard (Ease of Access look for Onscreen keyboard)
- Connect an external keyboard and see if the same problem will persist because if does you may need to consider on doing a complete Factory Reset cause it's a problem with your operating system.
- If all these will not work a replacement keyboard is necessary.
