Acer Aspire V5-561G-restarts automatically

I have been using Acer aspire V5-561G laptop for the past six months. It worked all fine. Recently it has started to restart all of a sudden,autonomously.
1) Sometimes it won't switch on only the power status LED blinks 5 times and no response.
2) Battery status shows 90% (5 hrs remaning) but it restarts within 15 minutes. Once it is back and running it shows 0% battery.
How can i fix this? Plz help me...! Thanx in advance

If you plug it in, does it still restart?

Sounds like the battery has gone bad at this point, and not taking and holding a charge consistently.

no this doesn't happen when it is plugged in. Oh...! can i see my battery status somehow? Like analyse or troubleshoot?

Try running Battery Info View, and look for the Battery Wear Level.

oh my god...! It says 90.8% battery wear level. Does it need to be replaced?

Naah. A new battery is at 100%.

I would run the battery down to about 30%, and then charge the notebook overnight to condition the battery.

My situation hasn't improved the slightest bit. thought it could be due to heating. I am using a cooler pad now, but still nothing has changed.

If it is driving you crazy, I would try a new battery then. These battery software indicators are not 100% accurate, and if you use the notebook a lot on battery, it may have worn it out.

Ok i will consider replacing it... Before that my aunt bought this device for me from Dubai, the warranty period is not over yet. Can I claim it here in my place?(India, Tamilnadu)
