ACER Aspire will not let me enter password

When I turn on my Acer Aspire 7735Z-4613 and try to enter the computer password, the password bar does not light up and the cursor does not appear. Please help!

Windows 10. It is the administrator password of the actual computer that I cannot enter.

I opened the battery lid as much as it would allow (about 1 mm) twice. Then held the left Alt Key down while turning computer off, still holding the Alt Key down, turned the computer on. Then released the Alt Key. All is well. Many thanks. Snooky.
