Is the screen of the hd panel and the fhd panel the same quality?

Aside from the obvious difference in resolution,I think they're the same(The FHD model is matte but I'm not sure about the HD model)

Thanks for that. Is there a speed difference as it has 4 gigs rather than 2 in the hd model. Also is it normal for the amount of battery time (how long the battery will take to deplete to 0) to change a lot in a chromebook?

All the models available in Acer's website have 4GB of RAM

And I'd definitely recommend 4GB(vs 2GB)
As for the battery life,you should get around 8-10 hours depending on the usage

So the ram makes a difference even if you are only opening 3 tabs in chrome? I only use this for basic needs. I have a powerful desktop replacement for my power needs.

If your usage is "very" light then now,2GB is fine.
