Solved! Acer Extensa 2508 Series Internet connection

My Acer Extensa 2508 will not connect to the internet :-(. it shows that the internet cable is connected but it says there is no internet connection. i downloaded the Lan drivers for the Laptop using a different laptop and after installing it, the machine still does not work.

Please assist urgently

So the network drivers are OK, did you check anything else? Try another cable, another port, reboot the router or modem? Do other systems connect OK using that same cable?
