Acer extensa 5235 bios passwprd

Our 14 year old son has a Acer laptop and has had it up and running once, however he tried to get back into it and can not, how do we reset the password, as he can not remember what he put it in as?

Hello,

There is a sticky in the laptop forum about lost bios passwords. Essentially, you can remove all power to the laptop and then take out the CMOS battery. This will reset all CMOS settings and usually the bios password as well. You would need to unplug the laptop, pull out its main battery, and then take out the CMOS battery (you may have to look for a service manual online for your laptop for instructions on how to replace the battery). Once the battery is out, hold down the power button for 15 seconds or so then put everything back together and try booting up again. If that does not work you will need to contact the vendor for help in resetting the password.
