Solved! Acer laptop wont connect to tv via hdmi cable

Plugged in cable to laptop and tv but no picture jus a blackout screen

I have connected my hdmi cable into acer laptop and cable into sony tv but all i get is a black scree...it wss just perfectly working lastnight until this morning all of a sudden its not connecting or showing up...are you able to help me with my situation please

I finally right clicked on my desktop screen of my Acer laptop as Tachybana suggested & after going thru the graphics card menus I found my solution easy as pie...my laptop doesn't support a TV screen. So....just b'c your laptops have HDMI portals doesn't mean they will work. I have an Acer Aspire 7745G, it has an HDMI port but sadly it does not support hooking up to my LG TV

Right click on desktop. Then click on Intel graphics settings. You can get it to mirror to a smart tv in the graphics settings
