Acer Travelmate 5335 screen black after disassembly

Help please. I have disassembled an Acer Travelmate 5335 to change the inner power cable, and after assembling back the screen won't come on. I can here the gpu fan on but nothing will show on the screen. It is completely black. Thank you

Also, I hooked up an external monitor and even though it does recognize a device has been plugged through the hdmi cable, nothing will come up there either

check that the video cable from the screen is properly seated in the motherboard. can test that without having to put the laptop all back together as just need the power button connected to motherboard.
