Acer Travelmate 5530

Hello, my Acer Travelmate 5530 distplay isn´t working. Its only blank screen but on an external display it is working fine. It is booting up into Windows no problem but why is the laptops screen not working ?? Can anybody help me?

The problem may be the inverter board or the backlight.

The backlight is inside the screen but the inverted board is under the screen. When you said a blank screen, is it black or white ?

Or is the inverter board on the mainbord. And how can i find out? I tryed to use a bright lamp to see if tere was a picture on the display but there was nothing. Can i fix this or do i need to buy a new mainbord or display?

its black i cant tell if its on or off

If it is still under warranty let them do the repair, the inverter is not on the motherboard. You could verify the two connectors of the inverter board.

It hasn´t got warrenty anymore. So shold i take the display apart?

Yes and I found the service manual for your laptop read it and you will know how to open the display.

its in front of me right now i opend it and there are 3 bords in there one bord thats for the lighting i think at the hinges of the display a nother one on the top of the display i think camra and on the back of the display with dont touch stickers

Make sure the connections for the inverter are solid.

If you look at the service manual, page 102 you will see the inverter board.

The inverter board is for the light, it will provide the power for the backlight off the screen.

hmmm the connections are all in place maybe i can try to mesure the voltage of the inverter bord output

Be careful it's a high voltage.

The inverter board converts to a high-voltage AC output in the range of 800-1000 volts. This in turn powers the backlight bulb.

nothing but the input was 19 v. Shold i buy a new inverter or could it be a diferent problem?

If you have 19v DC for the input of the inverter and nothing at the output going to the light, you need a new inverter. But the output is in AC volt.
