ACER V3-551G: Screen dimmed after turning it on

Hi all,

I seem to have a hardware failure with my laptop's screen, I'd just like to know which exact
part needs replacement.

The brightness is OK for a moment after you login or turn on the screen via the hardware button combo, then it dims.
Not related to Windows, I've booted to BIOS and Linux, same thing.

I have also experienced flickering of the screen at low brightness levels, but only once.

see if does the same thing on an external monitor even a friend's to see if it is a screen issue or onboard video issue.

No issues on external monitor. I have it hooked up on tv via an hdmi cable.
