Hey. I'm looking for a laptop for school for less than $1000 including shipping to Hawaii. The screen should be 15.6 inches or less. I would also like the resolution to be greater than 1366x766. I want the laptop to have a Haswell CPU for better battery life. It will also be used for light gaming, so a discrete GPU would be nice. If it matters, I intend to upgrade the Hard Drive to an SSD eventually. So far, I have narrowed it down to two choices.

How much longer will the Asus last with an Ultrabook CPU? How much faster will the HP perform with a traditional laptop CPU? Which one will have better gaming performance, the laptop with a lower CPU but a better GPU or vice versa?
