I'm leaning towards the Acer but I don't know much about the brand other than 10 years ago they don't exactly have a good reputation in terms of quality. I've used HP, Toshiba and ASUS laptops before. The Acer does look to have the best bang for buck though.

Solution
You should limit yourself to only the Acer with the 940mx.

The 920m is not very powerful, only a bit better than the Intel HD 620 in the i3-7100u. The 940mx is not a "gaming GPU", but it is certainly more powerful than the Intel HD 620 / 920m. Well worth spending the extra money if you want to play games.

If you do not plan on playing any games, then it doesn't matter which laptop you buy.

So you're saying I should limit my choices to the first two options?

If so, considering the brands and the performance difference, would you say the Acer is a better buy or I should stick with Lenovo since as far as I know it has better brand reputation.

I'll probably be only playing older games just to pass time. The most graphics intensive game I've played is probably a modded Skyrim, and I've gotten that with more than 300 mods on a laptop (i5 4th gen with Nvidia 720m), mostly because the types of mods I use are immersion and difficulty mods, not texture or beautifying mods. Couldn't care less. Lol. I'm just looking that my next laptop not be inferior to my old one. I'm givinh that to my little sister because she needs one and my mom doesn't want to give her a brand new one.

I'm mostly debating between power vs portability within my price range.

The Acer really looks enticing. Just not to sure on brand quality. Lenovo I believe is better known for durable stuff.

Thanks.
