after automatic update my dell laptop goes to black screen after sign in! when I uninstalled updates it works fine again.

My Laptop says it will automatically update again in 1 day. I thought I turned these off. How can I keep this from happening?

Windows 7?

Control Panel > Windows Update

In the left panel, click "Change settings"

In the drop-down bar, choose "Never check for updates (not recommended)"

Click "OK"
