This is why my 'smart' TVs never get attached to the internet. If all the functions I want work (IE good display and audio), then I can use other devices for 'smart' capability. Devices I have vetted and trust, and can remove if they go rouge. Like a roku, or a pi.

I would like to understand more about how it tracked this data. I don't use the internal streaming functionality at all however I do use an Apple TV to stream DirectTVNow, Netflix and Amazon Prime. I also use the smartcast feature to cast other apps like YouTube.

So can it only track what you watch if you use the internal streaming capability or does it somehow track everything that goes through it?
